Stories of hopeLent - Lent this year runs from Wednesday 14th February and marks the 40 days in the run up to Easter.  It’s a time for us to prepare our hearts and reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus.

Stories of Hope - Wednesday evenings, and Thursday mornings in Lent

Instead of small groups we’ll be meeting together each week to look at a new series at how faith has changed the lives of prisoners.  Using these stories we’ll explore the book of Mark to walk with Jesus and learn from Him during the Lent period.  For course details visit:

Join us in the back hall at CHBC - 8pm on Wednesdays, 10.30am on Thursdays - everyone is welcome.

You may wish to explore additional readings or resources to help you in Lent: 40 daily reflections and challenges sent by email.

#LiveLent2018 – receive prayer ideas, biblical reflections by text, twitter or booklet form.  Visit for info.

Shoebox photo2017 smallWe received over 250 shoeboxes at CHBC this year as part of Operation Christmas Child.

We filled shoeboxes of toys and gifts to send  across the world to children in need. With CHBC acting as a drop-off point for the local community we were overwhelmed by people's care and generosity.

Find out more about the Shoebox appeal at  the OCC website.

WT leafletThe Willow Tree is a project to support families in need in the Chadwell Heath, Barking, Dagenham & surrounding areas by providing clothing & equipment for 0-2 year olds which has been donated by many of the wonderful friends & contacts we have.

Families are referred by agencies that we are partnering with (healthcare, social services, schools, other charities etc)

Find out more at the Willow Tree website and keep up to date with what donations we need on our Facebook page

Creative Minds is our Saturday activity club for children.  It runs monthly on Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm, for children aged between 5-11, normally on the first Saturday of the month.  The cost is £2 per child.  We are co-ordinating with St Chads who are running kids craft mornings on the fourth Saturday of each month.

The next time we meet will be Saturday 4th March, 10am - 12noon.  No need to book, just come along!
